That means only one thing. Big fight. Many young men think that getting into a fight is a chance to prove themselves as real tough guys and shows that they’re someone not to mess with. Which is true to an extent, but personally I think that fighting has a time and place, never on the football field and never during a game. I personally don’t like fighting altogether because it goes against everything that I believe and stand for, let alone the time it wastes on the game. Now let’s get to the basis of this post. It was last weekend and once again all the games were washed out due to the rain, so I decided that I would go along with my brother to the YMCA again to watch some Futsal (Indoor Football).
Hey I Only Came To Watch!?
But no, the team wanted me to play with them because they were short one guy. It was funny because I went prepared to play, because I hadn’t played in 2 weeks so I was itching to get out onto the court. So finally the match starts, I stayed on the bench because it wasn’t my team and right off the bat the opposition scored a couple of goals. I went on and within 2 minutes I scored a goal from half way, thanks to the ignorance of the goal keeper, who had come out of his area. Back off I went and we scored a second goal. Drawn at 2-2, an argument broke out between one of our guys and one of the opposition. Within 20 seconds both benches had cleared due to the escalation of the argument.
One Big Crowd Of Players In The Middle
Where the referee is standing is pretty much where we were gathered around. At this point in time I didn’t want to stop playing the game so I urged my team mates to come back to the bench so that we could go ahead and win the whole thing. But it wasn’t to be. Although I didn’t realise at the time, a short stocky guy from the opposition came around to my mate, who started the whole thing and swung at him, clocking him in the jaw. I’m thinking to myself “Okay, that was a cheap shot, but we’ll leave that alone so that the referee can give him a red card and then we can easily win”. For a good 5 minutes we were holding off one another from fighting back and in the end that guy didn’t get a red card and the whole game was abandoned by the referee. So my friend got hit for nothing, which made me think about whether I should have knocked that stocky guy out cold.
Fighting Is Never The Answer
It might sound like something that your mother would say, but it is true. My actions were good ones and I am glad right now that none of my team mates decided to retaliate. It just showed them and the spectators that we were much more professional than the other team. Above all, fighting is ugly and could never be associated with football, because football is the beautiful game, the world game, meaning people of all cultures and backgrounds can come together and play in friendly competition. The next time you are provoked, never ever fight back, because for all you know, the other person will probably get a red card and I say that with experience, because it has happened to me at least 3 times. I’ll leave you now with the lighter side of football fights
