I got a chance to play FIFA 07 last weekend and I haven’t gotten around to writing about it which I am upset about because it definitely deserves a mention. I played it on my friends Xbox 360 and I have to say that it is truly the best football game I have ever played, I am not kidding when I say this. It blew me away, the graphics, the life likeness and the players on screen move like the players in real life. Let me give you an example, the trademark Ronaldinho free kick and here you can see the similarities.

This Game Should Come With A Warning, Like Cigarettes
I kid you not, it really should come with an addiction warning. So here’s the story. I got to my mates place at around 11 and I started playing FIFA with him at around midnight. I played a few games with him and I have to tell you, I never get blown away by a game this easily. We played and I always chose Barcelona and he would always choose Chelsea. When Ronaldinho would get the ball, the running stride was so real it was uncanny. For some reason I decided to ask what time it was and sure enough my friend told me it was 4:45am
Talk about addiction and losing track of time. The game label should read: “Known to make people lose track of time”.
How Did Ronaldinho Get So Real, Like So Many Others?
When Thierry Henry gets the ball, you can’t catch him, he is very fast. When Lampard gets the ball he can’t run as fast but this is constituted for the shot that he has on him. The game is very well balanced and this is possible via real motion capture and a lot of research. I mean it would have taken them a very long time to research every player thoroughly and the end result is a master piece and I have to say it is really going to be hard to top. I’m going to leave you with a video of Ronaldinho on the set of EA Sports Motion Capture Studios, it’s pretty funny at the same time enlightening.
