With the matches that were played over the weekend, Barcelona was to the be the most anxious as they stood at the top of the Spanish Primera Liga table ready to move down to second position. As mentioned in the match wrap up on Monday, Sevilla needed to overcome Racing Santander to steal the top position on the table. However, lucky for us, Sevilla played out a game with many opportunities, but concluded with a goalless draw. This brings Sevilla 1 point behind Barcelona and they are now breathing down their necks.

How Many Games Are Left to Play?

There are 9 games in total that are yet to be played, and all are just as vital as the next one. Moving on, defender Lilian Thuram from Barca, highlighted during the week that his side was at the top and that was the most important thing. He concluded that his side could not rest now, and that the loss to Zaragoza should spur the team on to win every match possible from here on out:

And well said by the Frenchman, because when you prepare for important games, you tend to put out a great performance. That is what Barca need to do here and their defenders realises this, as would the rest of the team. With adequate training and preparation for the game on the 15th of April, against RCD Mallorca, Barca will most probably come out on top and stay on top of the table.
