Those were the words of coach Frank Rijkaard, in response to the 1-0 loss against Zaragoza. Also adding that the opposition was very strong at home and that was illustrated on the day. The goal for Zaragoza came about in the 57th minute, with a deflection from Andres D’Alessandro’s low angled cross that connected with Diego Milito at the near post, to bring Zaragoza its fourth straight win at La Romareda stadium. Check out the goal by Milito underneath.
As posted earlier, striker Samuel Eto’o was out of action in this game due to injury. Zaragoza dominated the first half against Barcelona with several scoring opportunities for the opposition, however, Barcelona found luck was on their side. Our man, Ronaldinho recklessly took down opponent Pablo Aimar to receive a yellow card just before half-time. In response to Barcas bleak outlook on the game, coach Rijkaard swapped Marquez with Zambrotta to come back to Barcas usual formation of 4-3-3. While this change initially looked to have payed off, Milito snuck his goal in to put his side ahead. Oddly enough Barca had countless opportunities to put the ball away into the goal, however, it was not to be, as the home sides only genuine opportunity resulted in a goal for them. Weird how that works isn’t it?

Thoughts On The Game
I feel it’s purely a setback for the team this time, with only the 5th loss that Barca has suffered this season, which is commendable, however, the biggest danger now for the defending champions is the fact that they could be replaced at the top of the board by Sevilla if they win their match against Racing Santander. The next game is scheduled for the 15th of April, against RCD Mallorca, playing at Barca’s home ground, Camp Nou. Our boys need to clean up this match, because those 3 points will be pivotal towards the success of the club this year, so fingers crossed!
